Capital Asset Management (CAM) in Central Government

A seminar on Asset Management within Central Government will be held by the NAMS Group in Wellington on Wednesday 18th May.

The National Asset Management Support (NAMS) Group continues to be the leading agency for the transfer of asset management knowledge in New Zealand and is a recognised provider of asset management training in New Zealand.

This seminar will provide attendees with an overview of the principles underpinning Capital Asset Management (CAM), an understanding of its relevance to their agency along with the knowledge necessary to achieved improved asset management.

Learning outcomes include:

- An overview of the basic principles of CAM and why it is important

- An understanding of the connections between CAM, strategic planning, and other business practices of Government agencies

- An overview of the key capital asset management lifecycle strategies with examples of industry best practice

- Information of what to include when writing or updating an asset management plan

The seminar is a good opportunity to gain an overview of CAM and its benefits, to understand the gains made in the Local Government sector and how these could be applied within your agency and to discover what other agencies are doing to get the greatest benefit from CAM.
