NAMS Training courses are usually day-long, and run throughout the year around New Zealand.

Our training covers all aspects of asset and activity management, ranging from introductory and advanced learning levels.

NAMS training courses generally run from 8.30am to 4.15pm. Courses are fully catered.

Strategic Asset Management for Building & Property Portfolios

“A practical one- day seminar/workshop designed to highlight the main asset management issues for managers of property portfolios and their staff, and how these can be addressed”

Learning Objectives

Asset management as a business discipline is relevant to all asset types, however the uniqueness of the services and assets associated with buildings and property, means that there are differences in how these principles are best applied.

This seminar provides participants with an overview of asset management as a business process. The presenter will draw on the experiences and learnings of the industry over the past twenty years, to explore in detail several asset management planning processes specifically as they relate to the management of building and property portfolios.

 

Content covered

·        The linkages between asset management, the organisation’s objectives, and stakeholder expectations

·        The management of information including asset data

·        Condition and Performance grading of buildings

·        Developing meaningful levels of service measures for property assets and services

·        Forecasting and managing demand

·        Developing a long-term renewals forecasts

The seminar is a mixture of presentations and interactive workshops. Examples of property management practices will be reviewed and discussed.

 

The ISO Asset Management Standards (55000-55002)

The ISO Asset Management Standards (55000-55002) aim to provide a global standard for management of assets.  ISO 55001 sets out the requirements for an asset management system* that provides a structured approach for more reliable decision making for the development, coordination and control of activities undertaken on assets.  This course is aimed at organisations that wish to align with the requirements of ISO 55001, working within NAMS Guidelines (which were updated in 2015 to ensure all ISO requirements were covered), however it is not intended to cover formal ISO certification and auditing processes.  Alignment or certification with an internationally recognised ISO standard can provide governance and executive management with more confidence that an effective asset management system is in place.

 

*a management system, not just a computer-based information system.

Cancellation Policy

You may transfer your registration to another person or another NAMS course up to 48 hours prior to the start of the course without incurring a fee. Cancellations of registration will incur a $50 administration charge and must be received 7 days before the event start.
