Infrastructure asset managers can now gain recognition of their skills and knowledge with a National Diploma in Infrastructure Asset Management.
This world-class National Diploma is offered by InfraTrain, the Industry Training Organisation for the infrastructure industries. It has been developed in partnership with and is fully endorsed by the NAMS Group.

Infrastructure delivers core essential services to our communities and represents a major investment which has been built up over the past century and is vital to our livelihoods and wellbeing. To sustainably manage these services and the associated infrastructure assets, in-depth knowledge and practical experience with a wide range of management disciplines is required. The National Diploma recognises the high level of skills acquired by an Asset Manager to sustainably manage such assets. The Diploma is considered to be the benchmark for competency of managers of both public and private sector assets. The Diploma is a practical, “real world” qualification that is achieved through the hands-on development of an asset plan, and provides an ideal learning pathway to gain the skills required while working within your current job. The qualification is completed through recognition of appropriate work experience and on-job training. The Level 6 NZQA diploma is the only asset management qualification endorsed by NAMS in providing the necessary practical skills for asset managers in New Zealand.
The National Diploma also meets the requirements of the New Zealand Auditor-General for preparation of asset management plans.
The NAMS Group series of seminars and manuals provide the theory for the National Diploma. All diploma students can enroll in NAMS seminars at a special student rate per course (please advise NAMS when registering at a seminar that you are a Diploma student). Students will recieve an attendance certificate for inclusion in their Diploma evidence portfolio.
